The 60th ABU General Assembly and Associated Meetings

We are delighted to extend our warmest invitation to you to join us at the 60th ABU General Assembly and Associated Meetings hosted by Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) in Seoul between 28 October and 1 November in 2023.
Under the theme, “What come next? The original question of sustainability,” the 60th General Assembly aims to explore the critical question of sustainability in the broadcasting industry and shape the future of our sector in the Asia-Pacific region. As technological advancements reshape our landscape and environmental concerns become increasingly prominent, it is essential that we come together to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Moreover, sustainability encompasses not only the environmental aspect but also financial, social, and cultural dimensions. It necessitates finding a balance between economic viability, community engagement, and the preservation of our rich cultural heritage. Public media service should work collectively to safeguard the interests of our industry and foster meaningful connections with our diverse audiences.
During the Assembly, we will engage in thought-provoking discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaborative efforts to chart a sustainable path for the broadcasting industry. Together, we will explore innovative strategies, examine best practices, and foster partnerships that promote resilience, diversity, and responsibility in our operations.
Adhering to the theme of the assembly, the meetings will be held at two locations this year, KBS will accommodate associated meetings and the TV Song Festival at its premises, while the General Assembly and the ABU Prize Gala will be held at the Conrad Hotel. The venues are located a 15-minute walk away each from other.
